Home No More

We still live here.  We will live here still for months, I am sure.  There are rooms to be cleaned out, boxes to be sorted, things to throw out and give away.  There are walls to be painted, repairs to be made, bathrooms to be re-modeled.

But this house is no longer our home.  We are looking out, looking past, looking down the street to a new home, a new community, a new city.

A new life.

It is time, and more than time to leave.  My children do not want to go, and I understand that reluctance.  But it is time, and more than time to go.

And the house already in my mind belongs to the next family who will move in.  I hope there are children, and a dog, and a happy, noisy group of people to enjoy the neighbourhood my children grew up in.

And we will find a new place to be.
